Dermot Kennedy - The Weight of the Woods Tour (2026)
Original Post: April 1st, 2026
Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy is headed out on tour in support of his new album, The Weight of the Woods, which is due out on April 3. He will be stopping by Toronto at RBC Amphitheatre on September 15, 2026, and will be joined by special guest Jonah Kagen.
It wasn't that long ago that Kennedy played a sold-out show to 2,500 fans at History, which saw resale prices climb into the thousands. The question for fans now is: will there be enough demand for Dermot Kennedy to make tickets an instant Buy, or will ticket fatigue claim another victim as more concertgoers choose to Wait.
Let's jump in and take a look at the big picture.

The factors
Here's everything pushing this presale up or down the FaceValue scale.
His History show did its job ++
Unlike Lily Allen, who mistimed her amphitheatre announcement while her theatre shows went plummeting in price, Dermot Kennedy's History underplay back in 2025 held its value. Prices never went under $290CAD resale and even hovered at an earth-shattering $1,255CAD for months leading up to that show. If the goal was to boost demand for his larger gigs, then boy did it do the job.

The last amphitheatre show sold poorly --
Dermot Kennedy is playing the same stage he graced back in 2023. The conditions were prime: mid-June on a Saturday night. Yet, price data shows that resale dropped as low as $26 for get-in tickets and never went above $83. That suggests that the demand just isn't there for a sellout.
There isn't enough interest in Canada -

Google Trends suggests there aren't many people talking about Kennedy around Canada. It's troubling if he's hoping to sell more seats than he did in 2023. We can see the bump from the underplay run in 2025 near the end, but it doesn't look like it'll be enough.
Well, alright, he's Irish. Let's see if it's a different story overseas.

Uh oh.
Amphitheatre ticket fatigue --
I'm sitting here looking at Muse tickets sitting ice cold on the Ticketmaster page following their disastrous presale. We're talking about a band that is universally adored and critically scorned that couldn't pack out the same venue that Dermot Kennedy expects to sell out.

Maybe wallets have been fully tapped. Maybe ticket greed has crossed a threshold. Maybe people's entire concert budgets went towards Pitbull.

The verdict
For the Dermot Kennedy Toronto presale, it's shaping up to be a Wait. While the History warmup saw ridiculous prices, the numbers just don't add up for a mid-September amphitheatre sellout. Expect to see discounted tickets in the weeks leading up to the concert.

Here's how prices shaped up for Dermot Kennedy in Toronto.
- General Admission Floor: $165.50
- 200s: $127.50 – $299.40
- 300s: $105.50 – $246.60
- 400s: $83.50 – $246.60
- Lawn: $72.50
Now that the dust has settled following the presale and general sale, this is how ticket inventory is shaping up for Dermot Kennedy in Toronto.

It's looking to be selling pretty well! Lawn is still well available, as well as seats across the 200s, 300s, and 400s in varying supply. There are some unusually lengthy uninterrupted rows of resale tickets to be seen.
There's also a completely unsold row of seats in the 300s near the middle-left of the photo. This is puzzling to see. Why would that entire row be unsold while we're lead to believe almost every other seat in that section was snatched up? I'm thinking there's a healthy amount of ticket manipulation happening with the Dermot Kennedy sale.
The verdict still stands that Dermot Kennedy at RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto is a Wait.
