Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 6, 2026
Last updated: August 6, 2026

FaceValue is an independent Toronto concert publication and ticket-intelligence service. This policy explains what personal information FaceValue collects, why it is used, who helps process it, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to facevalueto.ca, the FaceValue Concert Tracker at tracker.facevalueto.ca, FaceValue memberships and emails, and any Front Row membership or member-community feature that links to this policy.

The short version

  • FaceValue collects the information needed to provide the feature you choose, such as your email address, the shows you save, your alert settings, your membership status, or a question you send to Front Row.
  • FaceValue and its service providers also receive technical information needed to deliver, measure and protect the services, such as browser, device, IP-address and request-log information.
  • FaceValue does not sell or rent personal information, and it does not use personal information for interest-based advertising.
  • FaceValue uses service providers for publishing, membership, hosting, databases, email delivery, payments and optional member-community features. Some of these providers process information outside Canada.
  • Marking a show Interested or Going does not sign you up for an email alert. Alerts and price targets have their own controls and can be turned off separately.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any FaceValue email.
  • You may ask to access or correct your personal information, or ask FaceValue to delete information it no longer needs, by emailing hello@facevalueto.ca.

1. Information FaceValue collects

What FaceValue collects depends on the features you use.

Information you provide

FaceValue may collect:

  • Contact and account information, such as your email address, name and account or membership identifiers.
  • Email and alert choices, including the newsletters or concert emails you request, whether an alert or price target is active, and when you turn it on or off.
  • Concert activity, such as shows you mark Interested or Going, shows you save, and the price or section targets you set.
  • Membership and billing information, if you purchase a paid membership, such as your tier, subscription status and billing events. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe through Ghost. FaceValue does not receive your full card number.
  • Questions and support information, such as messages, ticket listings, prices, sections, screenshots or feedback you choose to send.
  • Member-community information, if you join a Front Row member space, such as your Discord account identifier and content you post in that space.

Please do not send FaceValue payment-card numbers, account passwords, government identifiers or other sensitive information that is not needed to answer your question.

Information collected automatically

When you visit or use a FaceValue service, FaceValue and its service providers may receive:

  • your IP address;
  • browser, device and operating-system information;
  • the pages or features requested, date and time, referring page and similar request-log information;
  • cookie or local-storage identifiers used for sign-in, membership and service operation;
  • first-party website analytics, including page views and short-window visitor counts;
  • member and signup attribution, such as the page or referral source connected to a signup; and
  • email activity and delivery events, such as emails sent, opened or clicked, and delivery, bounce, complaint or unsubscribe status.

When a logged-in Ghost member visits the FaceValue website, Ghost may record the member ID, membership type and content viewed so FaceValue can understand which content is useful to members.

Information received from other services

Depending on the feature, FaceValue may receive:

  • a verified member email and membership information from Ghost when you sign in to the tracker;
  • subscription and payment-status information from Ghost and Stripe if you purchase a paid membership;
  • email delivery and suppression events from Ghost or Brevo; and
  • Discord account and activity information if you join or participate in a Front Row member space.

FaceValue also links to ticketing, resale, social-media and other third-party sites. Those services handle information under their own privacy policies when you visit them.

2. How FaceValue uses personal information

FaceValue uses personal information to:

  • create and maintain your FaceValue membership or tracker account;
  • remember the shows you save and whether you marked them Interested or Going;
  • create, deliver and manage newsletters, below-face alerts, custom price targets and other messages you request;
  • provide and administer Front Row or another paid membership;
  • answer questions, provide support, moderate member spaces and respond to reports;
  • show you account features based on your own saved shows and choices;
  • understand how people use FaceValue content and improve the services;
  • operate, troubleshoot and secure FaceValue services;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access and unwanted email;
  • maintain unsubscribe and suppression records so FaceValue does not contact people who opted out;
  • keep records required for billing, tax, legal, security and dispute-resolution purposes; and
  • comply with law and protect the rights, safety and integrity of FaceValue, its members and others.

FaceValue will not use personal information for a materially different purpose without first providing appropriate notice and obtaining consent where required.

Newsletters and concert emails

FaceValue sends newsletters, concert alerts and price-target messages through the subscription and preference controls connected to those services.

You can:

  • unsubscribe using the link in any FaceValue marketing email;
  • manage available newsletter preferences through your Ghost member account;
  • turn an individual below-face alert or price target off in the tracker; or
  • contact FaceValue for help with your preferences.

Marking a show Interested or Going records your show choice only. It does not sign you up for an email alert.

Turning on a below-face alert or setting an email price target is the choice that authorizes that email. FaceValue records the control used, the notice version and the time of the choice so that consent and later changes can be respected.

Turning an alert off does not remove the show from your Interested or Going list. Removing a show does not necessarily cancel a separate newsletter subscription. These controls are kept separate so you can manage them independently.

FaceValue may still send transactional or service messages needed to administer an account, paid membership, security event or privacy request where permitted by law.

You may withdraw consent to optional uses at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean FaceValue can no longer provide a feature that depends on the information. For example, an email alert cannot be delivered without an email address.

4. Cookies, local storage and analytics

FaceValue uses cookies and local storage for service operation, including:

  • Tracker session cookie (fv_session), an essential, secure and HTTP-only cookie that keeps a member signed in to the tracker for up to 30 days.
  • Ghost membership and Portal technology, used for member sign-in, subscriptions, account management and checkout.
  • Temporary sign-in handoff storage, used to complete the sign-in journey between the Ghost website and the tracker.
  • Stripe checkout technology, used when paid membership or payment features are available.

Ghost also provides first-party website analytics and member attribution. Ghost's web analytics are cookie-free and do not use persistent browser storage to identify visitors across sessions, browsers or devices. They may count a visitor within a 24-hour window and, when a member is logged in, associate content views with that member's Ghost ID and membership type. FaceValue uses this information to understand readership and improve its content and services.

FaceValue does not currently use third-party advertising trackers or personal information for interest-based advertising. If that changes, FaceValue will update this policy and introduce any notice or consent controls required before enabling them.

You can clear cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, account, Portal or payment features from working.

5. When FaceValue shares information

FaceValue does not sell or rent personal information. It shares information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

Service providers

FaceValue uses the following providers:

  • Ghost for website publishing, member accounts, newsletters, first-party analytics and paid membership. Ghost may process your email, name, membership status, subscription choices, content activity, signup attribution and billing events.
  • Supabase for tracker account data and preferences. Supabase may process account identifiers, email, saved shows, alerts, consent records and membership status.
  • Vercel for tracker and administrative hosting. Vercel may process requests, IP and device information, service logs and information submitted to tracker features.
  • Brevo for certain transactional and alert emails. Brevo may process email addresses, message content, delivery identifiers and delivery, bounce, complaint or unsubscribe events.
  • Stripe for payment processing through Ghost. Stripe handles contact, billing and payment information. FaceValue receives limited subscription and payment-status information.
  • Discord, if Front Row member-community features are offered, for member rooms and the Ask FaceValue desk. Discord may process account information and content posted in those spaces.

FaceValue remains responsible for personal information transferred to service providers for processing. Providers may use their own subprocessors and may process information in other countries.

FaceValue may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with a lawful request, court order or legal obligation;
  • investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents or threats to safety;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal rights; or
  • complete a sale, financing, reorganization or transfer of all or part of FaceValue, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

Member-shared content

If you post in a Front Row member room, your content may be visible to other members of that room. Ask FaceValue answers may be shared inside the Front Row room so one answer can help more than one member. FaceValue will not republish your question or screenshot outside the member room without your express permission.

6. Processing outside Canada

FaceValue is based in Toronto, but some service providers operate or store information in other countries, including the United States and European Union. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws and lawful-access rules of the country where it is processed.

FaceValue remains accountable for personal information transferred to service providers for processing and uses contractual, technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service and information involved. You may contact FaceValue for more information about service providers and cross-border processing.

7. How long FaceValue keeps information

FaceValue keeps personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, honouring your choices, resolving disputes, maintaining security and meeting legal obligations.

In general:

  • account, saved-show, preference and membership information is kept while the account or related service is active and for a limited period afterward;
  • active alert and price-target settings are kept until you turn them off, the related concert passes, the account is deleted or FaceValue determines they are no longer needed;
  • email delivery and consent records are kept long enough to demonstrate consent, prevent duplicate sends and manage delivery;
  • a minimal unsubscribe or suppression record may be kept after other account information is deleted so FaceValue can continue to honour the opt-out;
  • support, Ask FaceValue and moderation records are kept for the time needed to answer the request, operate the member space and handle disputes or safety issues;
  • billing and transaction records are kept for the period required by tax, accounting and other laws; and
  • provider backups and security logs are deleted or overwritten according to operational and provider schedules.

8. Safeguards and privacy breaches

FaceValue uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These include access controls, encrypted connections, restricted credentials, signed sessions, database permissions, backups and periodic security review.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a privacy breach occurs, FaceValue will investigate and document it. Where required by law, FaceValue will notify affected people and report the breach to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Access, correction and deletion requests

You may ask FaceValue to:

  • explain whether it holds personal information about you;
  • explain how that information has been used and disclosed;
  • provide access to your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • withdraw consent or change communication preferences;
  • delete information that FaceValue no longer needs to keep; or
  • answer a question or complaint about FaceValue's privacy practices.

Send requests to hello@facevalueto.ca. FaceValue may need to verify your identity using the minimum information reasonably necessary before acting on a request.

FaceValue aims to acknowledge requests within seven days and responds to verified access requests within 30 calendar days, unless applicable law permits an extension. FaceValue will explain any lawful reason a request cannot be completed in full.

Deleting a FaceValue account may not automatically delete a separate Discord, Ghost or payment-provider account. FaceValue will explain which parts it can handle and which requests must be made directly to another provider.

10. Children

FaceValue is intended for a general concertgoing audience and is not directed to children under 13. FaceValue does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without consent that is valid under applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact FaceValue so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

FaceValue links to ticketing platforms, resale marketplaces, social networks, videos and other third-party services. Visiting or interacting with those services may disclose information such as your IP address, browser information and the page that referred you. Their privacy policies, not this policy, govern how they handle that information.

12. Changes to this policy

FaceValue may update this policy as its services or legal obligations change. The revised page will show a new Last updated date. FaceValue will provide additional notice, and obtain consent where required, if a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
