### 💡**How I rate shows**

- Various factors are considered, including community sentiment, time since the last show, pricing, proximity to nearby dates, and more
- Each factor is given a positive or negative score. Positive scores swing in the direction of **Buy**, and negative scores swing towards **Wait**
- Factors sum up to one score, which becomes the FaceValue Verdict: **Buy or Wait**

## The factors

Here's everything pushing this presale up or down the FaceValue scale.

### Thirteen years since their last visit ++

You read that right. If you've been following them for that long, you've *felt* that wait. Empire of the Sun's last Toronto show dates back to September 9, 2013, when they played the Danforth. This will undoubtedly be the biggest factor influencing the sale. This show has a severe exclusivity element to it, especially considering this will be only the fifth time the band has performed in Canada in their careers.

### Resale history looks steep for them +

Glancing over on Ticketdata.com, we can see that the get-in prices for their 2025 dates have often stayed in the hundreds, even at some of the comparably sized venues.

![Resale history for Empire of the Sun sourced from ticketdata.com](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/03/image-12.png)

### Toronto audience not established --

The other side of them rarely performing in Canada is that it suggests the crowd for them might not exist to the same degree as it does in the U.S. or globally. RBC Amphitheatre is a huge venue, around ten times larger than the Danforth by capacity. Being that this will be their first amphitheatre show here, we don't have any frame of reference for whether they can fill the venue.

### They're far from their peak -

![Google Trends data for Empire of the Sun in Canada](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/03/image-13.png)

Google Trends data for Empire of the Sun in Canada

The Google Trends data shows there isn't as much interest in EOTS nowadays compared to 2013 when they last visited.

### Osheaga stole the spotlight -

They don't have the advantage of being the first Canadian EOTS show to be announced, as they popped up on the Osheaga festival poster last month. I could imagine that some superfans have already booked their trip to Montreal.

![Osheaga 2026 lineup poster](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/03/image-14.png)

How about that lineup, eh?

### The summer is already packed -

Empire of the Sun have to compete with a fair amount of shows in the months leading up to the August concert, with fans' wallets already at their limits with the sheer number of concerts announced recently.

## The verdict

For the Empire of the Sun Toronto presale, my recommendation is to **Wait**. Despite being their first visit in over a decade, we've yet to see evidence that they can pack out venues this big in Canada. Expect the presale to be buzzy, but for prices to ultimately drop before showtime. If you're planning to go, set a price alert below and I'll keep you posted when prices shift.

Yeah, definitely not last chance...

## Post-Show Verdict

**Added*: August 26th, 2026*

Was the Wait call right? How cheap did Empire of the Sun tickets in Toronto really get? I talk about all of that here, so you can see how much readers that took my advice saved.

![FaceValue Verdict for Empire of the Sun - Ask That God: Afterlife Tour in Toronto: Correct](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/04/fvverdict-CORRECT-stamp-5.png)

The call I made on March 13th, 2026, before artist presale had started was **Correct**. This is how the sale period played out. First, a look at face value prices when tickets first went on sale in March.

🎟️

****Empire of the Sun — RBC Amphitheatre**
Aug 25, 2026
Face value prices (fees included):
****GA Floor**: $127.00
****200s**: $208.00 – $411.00
****300s**: $150.50 – $210.60
****400s**: $83.50 - $186.60
****Lawn**: $55.75
****VIP**: $344.40 – $578.10

Empire of the Sun weren't able to sell out RBC Amphitheatre, with thousands of tickets left unsold in the days leading up to the show. By showtime, the total count of unsold tickets was around 529\. Discounted tickets were available for almost every section.

![Empire of the Sun Toronto get-in prices in the weeks leading up to the concert](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/08/image-22.png)

Get-in prices tracked over time. The dotted line is the original lawn price

The single cheapest ticket that I was able to see was a $36.44 seat in the second row of the 200s. This is one of the best spots in the house as it's only two rows from the pit while still being elevated above everyone in the pit area. This ticket would have originally sold for $411.00, marking a savings of $374.56.

![Empire of the Sun $35.70 ticket in the 200s Level](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/08/image-23.png)

Price drops were found in every other section except for lawn. GA Floor dropped as low as $111 (-13%), 300s went down to $84 (-45%), and 400s went as low as $66 (-21%).

![Lowest recorded prices per section for Empire of the Sun in Toronto](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/08/image-21.png)

💸

****Money Saved by Waiting** **\- Empire of the Sun Toronto**
****GA Floor**: $16.00

****300s**: $66.50 - $126.60
****400s**: $17.50 - $120.60

I captured these prices myself, every few hours, from the announcement through to showtime.
