Almost 13 years after his last Toronto show, **Calvin Harris** is finally coming back. His first North American headline tour brings him to Scotiabank Arena and TD Coliseum next April, giving fans two chances to catch one of the biggest DJs ever to grace the decks.

The long wait should make for a hot presale, but looking at his contemporaries could offer a warning about how the Toronto and Hamilton split might play out. The Reserved by Spotify presale gives us an early look at prices before most fans get a chance, providing crucial information that could determine whether this ends up being a **Buy** or a **Wait**. Let's break it down.

**UPDATE (10/19): Pending Prices resolved to Wait.** I held off on a Buy or Wait call until we could see the prices. The Reserved by Spotify presale gave us that early look today, and I’m now calling **Wait** for both Toronto and Hamilton.

Here’s what Toronto came in at:

- **GA:** $388
- **100s:** $248–$290
- **300s:** $120–$150

Those starting prices are 36%, 45% and 20% above their respective Scotiabank Arena averages. That’s high enough that I’d rather wait it out.

I couldn’t access Hamilton’s prices, so that **Wait** call is based on Toronto’s pricing and the Toronto/Hamilton comparison below.

### 💡**How I rate shows**

- Various factors are considered, including community sentiment, time since the last show, pricing, proximity to nearby dates, and more
- Each factor is given a positive or negative score. Positive scores swing in the direction of **Buy**, and negative scores swing towards **Wait**
- Factors sum up to one score, which becomes the FaceValue Verdict: **Buy or Wait**

## The factors

Here's everything pushing this presale up or down the FaceValue scale.

### A long-awaited return +++

Calvin Harris hasn't played Toronto since VELD in 2014\. By the time April rolls around, it'll have been almost 13 years since one of the biggest DJs in the world played here. Plenty of fans have probably never had a chance to see him, while others have been waiting years for another opportunity. That gives these shows a lot going for them before tickets even go on sale.

Not a single phone in sight!

### Toronto and Hamilton are different stories -

Let's look at his modern counterpart, John Summit, as a point of comparison. He's playing the same two arenas, and his Toronto show looks to be selling well, with mostly expensive tickets left. Hamilton, meanwhile, has a practically unsold lower bowl, despite getting the Saturday show. It looks like upper bowl sales have been turned off for both shows to move lower bowl tickets. That definitely seems to be the case for Hamilton, but feels more like conjecture for Toronto.

![John Summit's Toronto ticket availability as of 10/17/26](https://storage.ghost.io/c/6e/0c/6e0cce82-0f24-4042-83ee-2fc19de95d7a/content/images/2026/10/image-13.png)

Hamilton's map as of 10/17/26

Mind you, Summit is selling a 360-experience, including seats behind the stage, so he has more tickets to move. Still, the difference between the two cities is pretty substantial. Calvin's long absence should help, but I wouldn't assume Hamilton will sell as easily as Toronto just because it gets the better night.

### Room for more dates -

There are gaps around several major cities on Calvin's schedule, which makes me think this might not be the full run. Toronto has some room for another show, and with April 10 already booked at Scotiabank Arena, Sunday, April 11 looks like a possibility.

An added Sunday show would be especially appealing to anyone settling for Monday right now. Nothing has been announced, but it's worth keeping in mind before paying a premium to secure tickets for the only Toronto date.

### The price has to make sense

This is probably what the sale comes down to. Calvin has the name and the long-awaited return, but there's still a limit to what people will pay.

For context, Scotiabank Arena's average prices are $285 - $294 for GA, $171 - $550 for the 100s, and $100 - $198 for the 300s. At TD Coliseum, they're $369 for GA, $193 - $515 for the 100s, and $112 - $196 for the 200s.

If Calvin comes in below those averages, or even a little above, I'd be more comfortable buying early. If he comes in significantly higher, I'd rather wait it out, especially for Hamilton.

### An early look at prices

The first sale is Reserved by Spotify on October 19 at 10AM, giving select fans a chance to buy tickets before the artist presale on October 20 at noon. That gives us an early look at prices before the bigger rush. The best part is that this presale is so limited that it's very unlikely to make a dent in overall ticket availability, AND it gives us critical insight into pricing before the majority of us have our turn to buy.

### Some quick-fire factors:

- **Monday vs. Saturday +**
  - Hamilton gets the easier night for a group outing. Toronto's Monday date is a tougher sell for anyone travelling in or working the next morning.
- **Early on the 2027 calendar +**
  - There haven't been many big 2027 announcements yet, so this has a chance to grab people's concert budgets before the calendar fills up.
- **Festival-season timing +**
  - Toronto falls right after Coachella's first weekend, while Hamilton lands during the second. All that festival buzz could give folks another reason to want a big EDM night out.

## The verdict

**UPDATE (10/19):** The **Pending Prices** verdict has now resolved to **Wait** for Toronto and Hamilton. Toronto’s Spotify presale prices came in well above the venue averages, so I’d wait for prices to come down.

I couldn’t get a full picture of Hamilton’s prices, so that **Wait** call is based on Toronto’s pricing and the Toronto/Hamilton comparison above.

***Original verdict (10/18): Pending Prices***

An evolving landscape in ticket buying requires an evolving methodology. I'm introducing a brand-new verdict type with this Calvin Harris presale: **Pending Prices**.

We'll have the Reserved by Spotify presale on October 19th, which should provide pricing info. Since the decision feels close enough to come down to pricing, I'm not giving a verdict until we have a clearer idea of face-value prices. Once we have them, I'll individually resolve Hamilton and Toronto to either a Buy or a Wait, similar to John Summit, who had a separate verdict for each cities.
